    Hi,
I was looking for more information on Summer 2018 camps that are being offered. The child I am looking for is a 6-year-old girl. Will you need to do an assessment to decide what group she falls into? I would love more information about how these sessions as well (i.e. how they are structured, how many kids in one, etc.) Please let me know if there are any spots available and other details that can be provided.
    Thank you

      Hello,

Thank you for your questions. Yes, we do meet with all of the children ahead of time to determine which group would be the best fit. Most children have already had an assessment so we usually do an informal assessment during our initial consultation (IC) with the child. This IC is 30 minutes and there is no charge for it. The groups have up to 4 children in them. The group runs for 50 minutes and then we debrief with the families for the last 10 minutes. The groups usually start with hello’s, making the group plan, perhaps a book, followed by 1 -2 activities and then clean up. At this time we have a group for 6 year olds that will be running on Tuesdays from 10:00-12:00 on July 10, 24, 31, and August 7, 14th. It will be led by SLP. Nicky Pontin. The cost is $90 per hour and it is a two hour group. There may be another group run in the afternoons but it has not yet been confirmed. Details will be coming on our Facebook page or here. If you would like to schedule an IC for your child, please let me know and I can arrange it for you.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

You mentioned that most students in these groups have previously been assessed, however, is it possible to take part without that? We are still on waitlists for different clinics, trying to get a speech and language assessment for the six-year-old in question.

*Also on a separate note, I tried to email the clinic for this information assuming it would be easier but responses are much faster on this form. Just wanted to make you aware of that, not sure if there is a problem with an email that needs to be checked (its the info email address)
